Genealogy of Morality

It is so funny to explore new things. Yesterday I wrote that as a child I liked to read adventure novels such as “the little captain” about a small captain sailing all the seas with his ship; or Jules Verne’s travel stories.

But what about, if many lands are already discovered, trying to discover “secret tunnels” in our reality, or “secret rooms”, such as to what is the truth behind religions.

Schemes can help; outline

This is a super difficult subject, and as I noticed, super difficult subjects can only be grasped if you make it super easy, therefore I made an easy list:

A1 IQ 0-60 mental age 0-6 nature religions, paganism “children under guidance of the mother”

B1 IQ 70-100 mental age 6-12 Abrahamic religions “children under authority of the father”

———————————————

B2 EQ 100-130 mental age 12-18 atheism “adolescents who think they can do all themselves, but not yet”

A2 EQ 140-200 mental age 18-24 negative theology “maturity”

Phase one, the motherly phase

The funny thing is that you can see this built up perfectly in the development of humanity.

In the old pagan times people worshipped nature, nature who was so good to provide for them what they needed; but they actually did not much critically question its structure; not that sometimes nature can also be rough.

This phase connects to children who are still small and under the guidance of the mother.

In Arab family law the mother has more custody rights till the child is about seven, and this perfectly matches up with this first phase of life.

Rebellion

Mothers are very good in taking care of small children. But they can also be very authoritative.

For me this phase in life was something I know from my early childhood. There I also “bumped in” authority figures from the female type.

At the first day when I entered pre-school (in Dutch: peuterspeelzaal) at the age of three, I noticed the place, I noticed they had cool toys, even a pedal care for kids, wow. So I wanted to go there.

But next came the teachter, a young woman but with authority traits, and said: are you also coming to sit to talk with us, Maurice? They apparently had a morning ritual where the kids sat in a circle to talk.

But it was my first day, I first wanted to explore that place, so see what they all had there. I was not having the intention to sit and talk, so I asked defiant: why, to which she replied: that is what we always do.

This is an authoritative answer: the lady did not explain anything with this answer, as to why they go sit in the circle, what they intend to do there, but just said that this is a rule I have to obey.

For me, who I count as A2 “rebel”, this does not work, so I simply walked away with the thought: if you do not explain why you guys go sit in a circle, you don’t get me there, and I went to play with the pedal car and also saw a nice fluffy dog, that was also allowed to “drive” with me.

The second phase, fatherly authority

The second life phase is when children start exploring more around the house, and is also the phase when children start going to school.

This next phase is what I call the fatherly phase; here the authority of the father becomes more apparent.

Also books, as mentioned children start reading and writing here, so here we get a phase with religious books. But these children just start to read, so texts have a semi-religious connotation, they are not just words, but magic.

The children have a semi magical way of thinking about texts and easily believe what is written, “just because writing is so magical”, so “just because it is written in such a thick book”.

In this phase you also still are under parental control. Though children get more autonomy, the parameters are set: they are not allowed to do too much of their own.

For example in the beginning of Genesis is directly mentioned that the children are not allowed to eat from the tree of knowledge, meaning that they can play around in the yard but not just open the gate to go outside.

You can read that God totally explodes when he finds out that the children Adam and Eve did eat from the tree of knowledge, and you can read in the story that there is nothing intrinsically bad about eating from the fruit, they do not die or nothing, as mentioned in the story, but the trouble is that the parental authority from the father is challenged

In the New Testament this is the same. In the beginning of the Gospel of John Jesus gets an emotional outburst when Nicodemus asks him a question how to obtain the kingdom of God.

But Jesus blurts out: “do I know something with water and Spirit or so, don’t bother me with these questions, if you bother me too much with it, you perhaps do not love me, and if you not love me than go to hell”.

The conclusion of this story is: you are not allowed to ask questions, here we do not question the authority of God neither by an inquisitive mind to explore more outside the garden, nor ask difficult questions into the inner domain of spiritual things.

Everything you need to know is in the guidelines of the father. And there is a strong focus not to lose the love of the father.

Rebellion again

Also here I just act as a rebel again, mainly in dreams this time. That might seem weird, but of course you cannot meet God or Jesus on the street, you meet them in dreams. People dream a lot, and in dreams a lot of things can happen, so for example you can also dream of God, or Jesus; but in the dreams I always won from them, they were a bit limited and I was defiant.

When God came once to me, I thought: ah, he’s gonna get me, meaning: abduct me, to neverland, to where he collectes human souls to put them in golden cages, so that they have to eternally sing for him.

So I said defiant: hey, it is not my time yet; meaning: can’t you see that I am still a kid, it is not my time yet to take me away from life.

The phrase “can’t you see that I am still a kid” is a defiant phrase; and this is stronger than authority, so God went away in that dream.

The same with Jesus; when I once dreamt about him, I said: okay okay, take me away then, if you have something to offer; to which he replied: “it is not your time yet”.

This is the same as mentioned before: the phrase “if you have something to offer” is a defiant phrase again, to which authority cannot do nothing.

Phase three: adolescence

These are just children’s situations; and this is against morality “can you defy rules of the authorities”.

When humanity moves on to the next level, you can see that cognitively they surpass the IQ 100 level, and there things start to brighten up a bit. This is not just nonsense talk. This is something what happened in Europe around 1860, and they called this the Industrial Revolution.

Investigators estimated, that before the Industrial Revolution the intelligence level in England was about IQ 70; and after the Industrial Revolution IQ 100; it went up pretty quick. And then you get trouble ahead for traditional religion: people become more critical and start to question authority.

Also they tend to become nicer. Therefore in the scheme I here make a shift from IQ to EQ, the quality of intelligence starts to change.

In the authoritative phase everything is still very limited, there is a limited scope, and also on the social level: we are one family, we are the Jews, we are the chosen, and you are not, puh!

This is pretty childish, but it is connected to that phase. Also you can read about nasty behavior against other people. So you can read for example that in Genesis 9 Noah curses black people to “eternal slavery”. That is very wicked. But under the authority of God such behavior is allowed. Human cognition is limited, so their scope is limited to the own tribe and others are different so they can simply be downplayed or simply exploited as cattle; and human cognition is limited, so they legitimate this with the authority of God, which is never questioned.

Around 1860 in all kinds of countries they start to stop with slavery, out of a sudden, and basically out of a sudden realization that this is bad. They start to question the authority of the religious texts, they start to questioning their own behavior; it is the awakening of emotional intelligence. You can see that they come over a threshold.

Rebellion

This phase is relatively recent. And it is not an easy phase, it is not “victory at last”. Because this is mentioned as the phase of human adolescence. If people are adolescent, they develop a sense of autonomy, but this does not mean, that they can do everything by themselves, they have to learn this step by step.

I noticed in this phase that they express different ways of “grotesk behavior” that is common for adolescents, a bit of bravado. You can say that 1860 was the big breakthrough year, but basically it started before, this adolescent state, lets say around 1700-1800. You can see it for example with the rise of modern philosophy.

But there you get some strange thoughts, such as the philosopher Immanuel Kant, who stated that “the truth is subjective”; that is no more than an adolescent stating “I know everything myself, you do not have to teach me anything”.

It is a bit limited: yes, you can know a lot yourself, yes you can explore a lot yourself, but you eventually have to deal with the objective parameters of this world.

The subjective element is not so much, that you determine everything yourself, but that you can “subjectively” decide how to deal with the objective parameters of this world: defy them, or cooperate.

Or Friedrich Nietzsche stating that “God is dead, what to do now”. This is typical for the third adolescent phase. You state that your father is “stupid” or here even “dead”, and that you can do all by yourself.

Nietzsche: set your own standards! This is very typical for the adolescent phase; you want to do all by yourself.

He also things that he is tough enough to do that, he states: “endurance is not bad, it makes you tough”.

That is also a bit overreacting, because some endurance can be ok, it can challenge you, it can teach you how to overcome challenges.

But too much of it, can cause trauma, and PTSS, something that he experienced himself, as he went mad and had to be taken care over: back in the child phase.

The fourth phase

Atheism is a bit limited, in my scheme. It is phase three, and after phase three I mentioned a phase four; which is basically the same as three, but more mature. It combines certain aspects of phase three but radicalizes them.

This phase four is so weird, that I am afraid people might not really understand it yet, and what I am currently doing, is testing on Twitter whether people can. Partly not, partly I get stupid reactions from the type “you are schizo”. But I also get some good questions, so I think they can; at least the smart half of them.

To make it easier, I quickly go through a few aspects. First about the question Nietzsche raised, whether God is dead. The answer is no.

Lets look back to the list of religions that I made above. With such a "stupid list," I try to see roughly where I should look for the solution, apparently somewhere between the too-simplistic "yes" from the second phase and the too-simplistic "no, dead” from the third phase.

Instead of this, in phase four you get the idea of "hypothetical existence of God"; God exists hypothetically. The idea of hypothetical existence is something like this:

- suppose I feel quite sick: perhaps I have something serious wrong with me, "this might not be just the flu", "what a problem"

- I set myself the thought that God might exist, hypothetically, and ask: okay if I have to get sick I will get sick, what has to be, has to be, but could You perhaps explain why, then maybe I can bear it better

- it is an intelligent question: basically the same question to the kindergarten teacher: why do we have to go sit and talk?

- it is an intelligent question: you do not simply accept illness as some stupid "NPC" non player character as in phase one or two; you are defiant

- with this you send an "intelligent" signal to reality;

- reality consists of potential energy and thus the potential to pick up those kinds of signals;

- potential energy can also convert things such as the potential scenarios of someone's life, for example filtering out “disease”

This theory is experimental; although I have tested it myself a number of times and it works; however incomprehensible it may be.

Much like quantum scientists sitting and watching experiments, staring in amazement as if to say: how on earth is it possible that purely physical processes are influenced by something "spiritual" like our observations?

This fourth phase proceeds from a somewhat different concept of God. It shares with the second phase as it uses theology, it uses the concept of God, but only in a hypothetical way, in a negative way; namely the non existence of God

As it goes from the presumption that there is no God in the world that give a sufficient reason why you should become ill, so if you ask about it, the opposite will happen: you become better.

But you will have to ask about it, you do have to play that there is a God, and speak to him, and ask intelligent questions, reality will not signal where is intelligence, reality will not notice you and help you.

Perhaps the underlying thing here is that “hypothetical thinking” is the highest form of thinking.

If Nietzsche states that God is dead, and what are we going to do now, he shows that he cannot do hypothetical thinking, or he at least did not see the use of it. But it can be very useful: you hypothetically surmise someone above you, ask the question, see that no answer is coming, and find the scenario from your life changing.

It seems that the "intelligent signals," such as the "why would I get sick" question, can only be picked up by reality if you hypothetically accept the existence of a God; otherwise, you have no real point of contact to address your intelligent "why" question, and reality cannot pick up intelligent signals. And reality therefore cannot initiate a physical process either.

I did this trick numerous times, once, and then it was most vivid, and rather recent, this was in 2018, when my ex wife got a terrible diagnosis from the doctor, a “death sentence” in the form of a terrible form of cancer.

In the second phase people can call out for God for help, that is the authority phase, and you can pray to God help help help, and usually nothing happens. That is probably because all these help cries are not intelligent, they are screams and reality does not react to that as these outcries are not intelligent enough; reality does not give an intelligent reaction to outcries that are not intelligent either.

In the fourth phase it goes different. At the bad news talk, I gave the doctor a defiant look, as to say “I don’t believe what you say, try better”.

We drove home and instead of listing through the information brochure about this cancer, I threw it on the attick of the shed and went to the garden to ask: if this has to happen it has to happen but explain to me why, then I can better understand it, and perhaps better carry the consequences, because then at least I can cling to the idea why, the reason as why this should happen.

No answer came from the sky, the trees and clouds were perfectly silent but inside the house the phone rang, doctor on the line to announce that they made a mistake. The scenario was immediately changing.

In the third phase they might say that this is a coincidence, which is theoretically possible; phase two and phase three have always fantastic theories, whether God determines how things happen, or coincidence determines how things happen; but in phase four there is an interplay between you and reality, and you can notice it when you do this trick more times; you can then get the idea of it, and see that it always works, not just incidentally
